About Us

The Lima Run 'N Jog Club is a member of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and is dedicated to promoting running and racing.  Members ages range from the teens through th 70s, with a variety of abilities and running backgrounds.  Most members live in Lima, but many live in other communities throughout Allen, Auglaize, Putnam and Van Wert counties.

The mission of the Lima Run 'N Jog Club is "To enhance our member's enjoyment in the sport of running".

People join the Lima Run 'N Jog Club because they have one thing in common: running.  Some members have been running and competing for decades, some have been working out with the club for a few years, while others are just starting out because they are interested in getting back in shape.  Some members regularly participate in triathlons or duathlons of which running is just one event.  Others are hoping to complete, and do well in, at least one marathon sometime this year; some run multiple marathons a year.  We have members who would not even consider doing any race longer that a 10k.   Lima Run 'N Jog Club has all sorts of runners!

Given the huge variance in our member's level of experience, fitness, their personal goals, ets., we find ourselves facing the challenge as to how we can create and maintain an environment that best allows each member to participate in a way optimal for their particular situation, all the while maintaining that comfortable feeling that comes with doing things as a group.

Our approach involves providing those members who would like to take the lead in organizing some potentially interesting activities (social runs, road-trips to out of town races, biking events, swimming events, hiking trips, concerts, plays etc...) with access to the club's newsletter, website, and email to promote their ideas to other members in the club.  The officers and volunteers will provide whatever support they can to any member stepping up to organize an activity, so let us know if you have any ideas you want to develop.

We are hoping that this approach will provide members with plenty of opportunities to get involved, get in shape, meet some folks, and do some things that they otherwise may not have the chance to do.
